I did not know what to expect when I selected this book. I thought it may be some b-grade poltergeist story of little research. I was pleasantly surprised as I made my way through the book. It was an easy to read, well written work that sucked me in almost immediately. The backstories were well composed and did not feel forced. The intricacies of weaving the 3000 year history of one magical artifact did not confuse the reader as “flashbacks” so often can. I eagerly await the next release in this series.
